What Parents are saying

In my son's words, "Mommy, I really like my school." Apollo Preschool has been an absolute blessing for my 2 and 4 year olds. They are both learning so much while having fun. The school is clean and nicely decorated with age-appropriate materials. They have 2 playgrounds. The kids are always doing art projects, working on their tracing, letters etc. The teachers are all so very nice and easy to approach. My daughter is learning to play with others, sing songs, and develop her language skills. She's even become a better eater since starting here. My son will be well prepared for Kindergarten next year. I can't speak for the infant program, but I would highly recommend the toddler through VPK programs at Apollo if you are in need of school, not just a babysitter!

Apollo Preschool is the best day care for 25+ years. I am a single mom with two daughters. My older daughter is 26 and my youngest will soon be 18. They both attended Apollo Preschool and now my grandson is enrolling. I feel secure that my grandson will be well cared for and that he will benefit from his time there. I still recommend this center to anyone who asks!

The staff is great to work with and very communicative. My children, 3 and 5, have been attending for almost two years and they still look forward to going to school every day. They love their teachers and friends. One of the best things about Apollo Preschool is they don't follow the traditional school year, so they are open on days that most other preschools are closed.

Fantastic school with excellent and attentive employees. They are great with the children and actually teach instead of just making sure the kids survive long enough for parents to pick them up. Keep up the good work guys!!!!

We've been bringing our children to Apollo for 9 years and have never had a bad experience. They have a great staff and great teachers who genuinely care about our kids. My shy daughter clung to my leg at all the other facilities. When we first toured Apollo Preschool, she let go and asked if she could play with the toys. I knew right then that this was the place I could trust with my daughter (and 4 years later with my son). It’s so much easier to leave your children when you know you can trust the teachers. We love this daycare and can’t say enough about how great it is!

Apollo has the best TEACHERS and are kind and caring. I love all the staff and Mrs. Tammy is awesome and very understanding. She’s a person who goes out of her way to make things convenient for you. She’s a sweet heart. My three kids attended and I’m extremely grateful for this place.

Love this school! They take such great care of my son. SO happy they were available for us! They take care of him like he's their own. He loves going every day, and always lights up when we see the various teachers and caretakers! Couldn't ask for a better place to watch over him. 🙂

FAQs

We are a family of caring and highly-trained staff who thrive on inspiring children to learn. Through our intimate circles of group-learning, we focus on individual children, creating a curriculum to enhance their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Activities foster the learning process, instructing in multiple ways to free children so they can explore individual paths to participate and exercise their voice.

Our main entrance is locked and requires a code that every parent must input to gain access to the facility. After being greeted by our front office staff, the child is allowed to walk to their classroom. A sign-in/sign-out entry station monitors the attendance of each child, and teachers track your child throughout the day. Our employees undergo background checks and fingerprinting, and we practice monthly safety drills to ensure your child’s safety.

Parents are allowed to enter the classroom as needed to check on their child. We maintain constant communication with our parents, and our staff is always available to answer questions about your child’s progress. Our facility is cleaned multiple times on a daily basis to ensure proper levels of cleanliness at all times.

Every child goes through an adjustment period, especially if they have never been in childcare before. Upon request we allow the child to meet their teacher in advance, and we encourage new families to schedule a tour with their child to view the center after hours. This gives your child a chance to explore their classroom, without the distraction of other kids, and become familiar with their new environment. Throughout your child’s first day, we send you updates. We always ask you to allow your child up to two weeks to adjust to their new environment and routines.

  • For infants, you should supply a crib blanket, a special snuggly or pacifier, change of clothes, diapers, wipes, and any specialty formula/breast milk.
  • For toddlers, we recommend a sleeping blanket, special snuggly (if needed), change of clothes, and diapers and wipes if your child is not fully potty trained.
  • For schoolers, anything needed for scheduled activities (towels, swim suits, costumes, etc.).
Our teachers work to toilet train preschoolers, and we communicate with each family to provide consistency between home and school.
Our infant teachers have been trained to safely store and keep formula and breast milk. Parents can bring pre-filled bottles of formula daily or store their formula at the academy for teachers to prepare. Breast milk can also be brought in daily.

At Apollo, we serve each child a healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack from our full kitchen. Beverages include milk, water, and juice. We post the menus every month for parents to view. Click here for our sample menus.

If your child has food allergies, a special dietary requirement, or does not like what is being served that day, please provide a substitute meal for your child. It is important that you list any moderate or severe allergies your child may have. We do not serve shellfish of any kind. In the event your child is prescribed an EpiPen, we will store the medication in a medicine cabinet with instructions and a signed medical form.

You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks for your child. Please label all items with your child’s first and last name.

Our teachers work with our director and assistant director to gradually transition children from one age group to the next. Each Preschooler is assessed monthly through the Ages and Stages program, while VPK students are assessed quarterly per state guidelines. Transition can be a difficult time for some children, so each child is assisted individually to make a classroom shift comfortable.
Our staff will never force a child to sleep. DCF requires a 2-hour rest/quiet time during the afternoon for any child under the age of 5 or not of school age. During quiet time, each child must receive a nap mat, a blanket, and a sheet. We encourage children to rest if they do not want to sleep, and we offer quiet activities such as books or puzzles.

If a child becomes sick while in our care, we contact the parent or guardian and ask them to pick up the child within 1 hour. The state publishes a comprehensive policy on guidelines for accepting ill children into our care, and our Sick Child Policy is available upon request for your review. Our Parent Handbook also outlines in detail our procedures for handling sick children.

Our teachers meet or exceed the state requirements for child care providers. Also, our staff must complete ongoing professional training annually. In order to maintain our high safety standards, all staff are required to hold first-aid and CPR certifications. Finally, a level 2 background screening is conducted on all staff before employment begins.

Our teachers are trained in positive discipline methods, so we teach calming techniques to our students and utilize positive reinforcements to assist them in handling escalated situations. A more complete discipline policy will be provided upon enrollment in the Parent Handbook.

Anyone that the parent allows if they present photo identification. For each child you enroll, we will request an information card listing your contact information plus a list of who can or cannot pick up your child. We will get to know the primary person who picks up your child, but anyone we do not recognize will be required to produce a photo ID, and they must be listed on your child’s information card. For quick reference, we keep the cards at the front desk. Please ensure your information is current and let us know of any legal custodial changes.

School-age summer camp runs every summer from June to August. Contact our office for more details.
